Brushes
When buying brushes at first you can do with just three sizes:
- 10,
- 6, and
- a rigger, half rigger or a number 2
Sables are the very best, but are expensive. The main thing about a brush is that it will come to a point automatically when dipped in water and then flicked in the air. A good art shop will provide a pot of water for you to try before you buy. If you think sables are too expensive there are brushes made of mixed hairs and also mixtures with synthetic fibres.
