Drawing Outlines

It may be useful to draw broad outlines lightly with a HB pencil before starting to paint. If your are more experienced you may want to draw a detailed complete pencil or pen drawing before adding any colour.

Above is a detailed pen drawing of the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. In order to be able to add colour to the pen drawing you would have to make use of an Indian Ink pen. This is to ensure that the watercolours use will not bleed in the drawing.
