New Futures 50+ Employment Programme

 

New Futures 50 Plus is an Employment Programme offering free, confidential advice and guidance and job brokerage for 50+ unemployed people in Kensington/Chelsea (and neighbouring boroughs) who need help to get back into work and training.  We offer a range of services:

One-to-one support
  • An initial diagnostic interview and skills audit to assess client needs and develop a short term/long term Action Plan
  • Follow-up interviews to review Action Plan and offer further support and guidance to progress onto training/employment
  • Support with career progression/career change, job search strategies and the application process, e.g. CV production, application forms, applications on line, and mock interviews
Referrals into learning/work placements
  • Open Age offers Basic Computer courses for Employment
  •  IT support sessions for job search on Mon/Tues/Wed
  • Referrals into learning with a range of local providers
  • Work Placements at Open Age and referrals to other providers
  • Referrals to Campden Charities for Working Age Grants
Job Brokerage
  • Job brokerage, promoting the skills, experience and qualities of older workers  with local employers
  • Continuing support throughout the interview process
  • Assistance with the early transition into a new job and in-work support for the first six months of employment
New Futures Seminars
  • An opportunity for clients to meet others in similar circumstances and to explore issues of health, diet and exercise, self confidence and self esteem
  • Pre-employments seminars to address the challenges of the job application process from producing a winning CV to role playing the interviewer and interviewee at the job interview
  • Pre-retirement seminars which focus on  life changes in relation to changing roles, maintaining a healthy life style, accessing relevant benefits and support and managing  financial issues
