Open Age works across 50 community venues as well as our own centres which include Positive Age Centre (PAC), Open Age Hub, New Horizons (Constortium led by Open Age) and the Main Office which is base for our Computer and Employment projects The Main Open Age office at Thorpe Close is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday as a drop in centre where you can come in and get information about Open Age. It is also the base for our Employment Project, New Futures 50 Plus, and also houses one of our fully accessible Computer training suites. Main Office The Positive Age Centre opened in May 1998. It offers art and health activities which support people over 50 to stay active, independent and both physically and mentally fit. It has a range of taster and longer courses, including tai chi exercises, keep fit / movement to music, singing, music appreciation, cultural exchange, speaker programmes, drawing , painting and art history/appreciation. Individual reflexology and massage treatments are also offered. These are very popular and must be booked in advance. All activities are run by qualified and experienced tutors and practitioners and fees are kept as low as possible to ensure that people can use the facilities without having to worry about the cost.Courses are developed in response to the interests of those who use the centre. New ideas and suggestions for the programme are welcomed. The centre is wheelchair accessible and welcomes men and women of 50+ from all cultural backgrounds. It is comfortable and has a welcoming atmosphere, with facilities. Positive Age Centre:
The Hub is based in South Westminster and offers a wide range of activities, including Keep Fit, Art and Crafts, Yoga, Reminiscence on Computers and IT drop in classes. We are currently setting up a Hub Committee which will help shape what activities we put on at the centre. Please contact the Hub on the number listed below for more information.
