Evelyn Fox Court, Kingsbridge Road

Kensington Housing Trust purchased the ground on Kingsbridge Road from Kensington Borough Council and built Sheltered Housing for some of their tenants. Previously on the site there was a school for children with special needs.

The accommodation was built on two floors and grouped around a central courtyard with a covered way which links the flats with\the communal lounge and shared facilities. These included a kitchen, laundry, hairdressing room and bathroom equipped with a hoist for the infirm and a communal room and other facilities for the use of tenants made available on the ground floor.

The building was opened by The Duke of Gloucester on October 18th, 1985 who unveiled a plaque.

At the opening of Evelyn Fox Court, 1985, Sylvia is in the blue dress.

After the Opening, refreshments were served in a marquee in the grounds.
